Summer at Achill Country Market
Hello everyone and welcome to the Summer update for Achill Country Market.
Now Summer is in full swing we have wonderful fresh produce each week - but make sure you come early so you are not dissapointed.
In recent weeks we have been selling chemical free lettuce, broad beans, mixed salad leaves, shallots, courgettes and new potatoes.
In addition there are fresh soups - carrot and coriander is a favourite - and of course many varieties of cakes and fresh-laid hen eggs.
We have also gained four new members who are very welcome and have added to our crafts and baking goods.
As part of the recent Achill Seafood Festival, an extension to the market included the sale of a variety of frsh fish and crabs claws which were very popular. Crabs claws are presently available at the market.
Hoping to see you at the next market.

12th Birthday Celebrations!
We were up early today, eagerly hanging bunting, fastening balloons, and setting our stalls as attractively as possible with lovely produce, for our Achill Country Market 12th Birthday Celebrations.
Thank you to all our customers - holidaymakers and islanders - who turned out in support for our Opening Market of 2009.
Today was a triple celebration. Not only was it the market's 12th birthday, and our first market of 2009, but we were also celebrating two new members who have joined this season. Their produce will add further variety to our baking and craft selection. You are very welcome.
Don't forget, Achill Country Market is held at Ted Lavelle's, Cashel, on Achill island on Friday mornings - see panel for details.
Hoping to see you all next week.
